Days 4 and 5 have been very relaxed and spent in and around Reykjavik. There were a few things, like the cat cafe, Phallological museum and Nautholsvik (geothermal beach) around town we wanted to visit. When we got to the beach, the pool seemed a little too crowded so we ended up searching for other similar spots and found the Secret Lagoon which ended up being really neat. As I'm writing this we just got back from the Blue Lagoon.

The Secret Lagoon is about an hour and a half from Reykjavik and is a naturally occurring hot spring, gaining it's warmth from geysers around the pool. There is a walk way around the pool and you can rent towels and there are pool noodles and a bar.

We had made our reservation for 21:00 (9PM) for the Blue Lagoon due to that being the only available time today left.. ha. The sun doesn't set here until 10pm this time of year so we weren't worry about it being too late. You get a wrist band that you scan that acts as a key to a locker and that racks up any charges you make while in the water that you pay upon exiting. There are showers and lockers and they provide towels and conditioner/soap. When you're in the water, there's a swim up bar and there is a swim up area where you can get the silica mud masks the lagoon is famous for. With the steam rising from the water and the rocks lining the pool, it feels like you're on a movie set or in a sci-fi fantasy world.
